Restorative Care – my model

Through 27 years of training and experience, I have developed my own model of care – first as a missionary,

then as a pastor and more recently as a professional prayer minister (prayer-based care) for 8.5 years at Hub and Spokes International, Hong Kong.

My work involves a blend of pastoral counseling, trauma-informed healing prayer, deliverance, spiritual care and guidance.

In general, I apply 8 ministry points for 5 key root issues to transform negative fruit in your life

The 5 key issues:

1. Attachment to God –

Your style of relating to Him, largely influenced by relationship to parents, salvation experience and how you’ve been discipled

2. Generational – patterns, sins, curses, trauma

3. Personal trauma

4. Personal sins

5. Narratives and Strongholds of thought

(trauma responses) –

stories we tell ourselves comprised of beliefs, judgments (assumptions), expectations, self protecting decisions (vows).

I use verbal processing (pastoral care) and coaching in listening prayer as well as any or all of the below as directed by Holy Spirit to bring freedom in your life.

My 8 ministry points:

1. Bring it to Him (confession)

2.Pray the story, process the emotion

and let God into the feelings

3. Forgive (a decision to release followed by a process)

4. Repent (changing direction towards God’s way)

5. Renounce the old (a formal decision before God )

6. Kick out the enemy (when directed by Holy Spirit)

7. Receive and agree with the new (especially when it comes to narratives/unhelpful thoughts)

8. Ask Holy Spirit for help

in the process of transformation

This kind of care

can be applied

in a variety of ways to help address the causes of your struggle.

Every technique I use I have experienced myself in addition to helping many others.
